Goal 17
Partnerships for the Goals
In a pioneering public-private-environmental partnership, Vetry Trust, Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation, and the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding (IFGTB)—under the National Bamboo Mission (NBM)—have joined forces to create a sustainable 12-acre Bamboo Park in Iduvai Village, Tiruppur District.
Established on government allotted land and backed by a 3 crore investment entirely sponsored by CSR funding from Royal Classic Mills Pvt Ltd., and implemented by VETRY Trust, the project is designed to enhance ecological balance while serving the public. IFGTB oversees the scientific and technical execution under NBM guidelines, Tiruppur Corporation ensures infrastructure and utilities including fencing, borewell, and lighting, and VETRY Trust manages the park’s maintenance and community engagement for 10 years.
This Bamboo Park not only restores unused land into a thriving green space but also benefits the local population by providing recreational space, encouraging environmental awareness, and contributing to climate resilience through afforestation.
Amenities That Inspire Nature and Well-being
Visitors to the Bamboo Park can enjoy a thoughtfully designed range of eco-centric and recreational amenities, including:
Each amenity has been carefully planned to promote community health, biodiversity education, and environmental appreciation among all age groups.
The Bamboo Park is more than a landscape transformation—it’s a symbol of resilience, sustainability, and environmental foresight. Bamboo, chosen for its fast growth and remarkable ecological impact, plays a central role in:
Enhancing local biodiversity
Sequestering carbon and purifying air
Improving soil health and water retention
Supporting an eco-conscious lifestyle for the surrounding population
This initiative stands as a living model of how collaborative efforts can lead to green infrastructure that serves both nature and people—a legacy for generations to come.
