About Vetry

Tiruppur, known as the Knitwear Capital of India, grew rapidly from a small village in the 1970s to a major industrial city in just four decades. While this growth brought economic success, it also led to serious environmental challenges such as polluted water bodies, poor air quality, and rising carbon emissions. To restore balance and improve the city’s environment, eminent business people of Tiruppur formed VETRY non profit Trust in the year 2000. VETRY registered as a trust & maintaining a high degree of reputation within Tiruppur District. We have obtained 12 AA and 80G exemptions under the Income Tax Act – and maintained proper/transparent books of account to date.

Recent Events

Just like today, on June 27 2015, our beloved People's President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, departed from this world, leaving us in immeasurable sorrow. To honor one of the dreams he sowed — to increase green cover — the journey titled “Into the Forest, Tiruppur” was launched with the belief that planting as many saplings as possible would be the most genuine tribute to him. This initiative has now completed 10 years. So far, 2.2 million saplings have been planted and nurtured.

This ongoing journey has now stepped into its 11th year. As its beginning, on June 21, 2025, the first saplings of the year were planted within the premises of the Thekkalur SCM Group, located on the Tiruppur-Coimbatore highway.

இன்று போல் உள்ளது 2015 ஜூலை மாதம் 27 ம் நாள் நம்மையெல்லாம் மீளா துயரில் ஆழ்த்தி இறைநிலை அடைந்தார் மக்கள் ஜனாதிபதி உயர்திரு டாக்டர் APJ அப்துல் கலாம் அவர்கள், அவர் விதைக்கப்பட்ட நாளில் அவரின் கனவுகளின் ஒன்றான பசுமை பரப்பை அதிகரிக்க மரக்கன்றுகளை இயன்றவரை நடவு செய்வது மட்டுமே அவருக்கு செலுத்தும் உண்மையான அஞ்சலியாக கருதி துவங்கிய வனத்துக்குள் திருப்பூர் பயணம் 10 ஆண்டுகள் , 22 லட்சம் மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டு வளர்த்து வருகிறோம்

தொடரும் இந்த பயணத்தில் A*11 ம் ஆண்டில் அடியெடுத்து வைக்கின்றோம் , எதிர்வரும் ஜூன் 21 ம் தேதி 2025 அன்று திருப்பூர் கோவை நெடுஞ்சாலையில் தெக்கலூர் SCM குழும நிறுவன வளாகத்தில் இந்த ஆண்டின் முதல் நடவு துவங்குகிறது.

கோவை வருமானவரித்துறை தலைமை ஆணையர் திரு. அருண் C. பாரத் IRS அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக கலந்து கொண்டு இந்த வருடத்தின் முதல் நடவை துவக்கி வைக்கின்றார்.

திருப்பூர் மாவட்டத்தில் 1 லட்சம் மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டு வளர்க்கவேண்டும் என்று துவக்கிய பயணம் கொடையாளர்கள் தரும் தொடர் ஆதரவு , மாவட்டம் முழுவதும் பேரார்வம் கொண்டு பயணித்து வரும் துணை அமைப்புகள் , தன்னார்வலர்கள் துணை, அரசு மற்றும் பொது சமூக ஆதரவுடன் இனிதே தொடரும் இந்த பயணத்தின் பலனாக 22 லட்சம் மரக்கன்றுகள் இதுவரை நட்டு பராமரிக்க படுவதால் பசுமை பரப்பு அதிகரிப்பு மட்டுமல்ல, பல நீர்நிலைகள் புத்தாக்கம், நிலத்தடி நீர் உயர்வு, வேளாண் தொடர்பான விழிப்புணர்வு மற்றும் பொருளீடலுக்கான பல்வேறு வழிகாட்டுதல், பல்லுயிர் பெருக்கம், அழிவு நிலையில் உள்ள மர வகைகளை மீட்டெடுத்தல், மழை நீர் சேகரிப்பு குறித்தான விழிப்புணர்வும் அதன் பலன்களும், கழிவு நீர் சுத்திகரிப்பு குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு, கால்நடை பராமரிப்பு குறித்தான கருத்தரங்கம் மற்றும் விழிப்புணர்வு என தொழில் வளர்ச்சி காரணமாக கடந்த 50-60 ஆண்டுகளில் இழந்த இயற்கை வளங்களை மீட்டெடுப்பில் பல்வேறு பணிகளை வெற்றி அமைப்பின் வனத்துக்குள் திருப்பூர் செயல்படுத்தி வருகிறது.

இவற்றையெல்லாம் தாண்டி இன்று நாடு முழுவதும் இந்த திட்டத்தை மாதிரியாக எடுத்து செயல்பட பலவேறு மாநில வனத்துறை முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர் இதற்கும் மேலாக வர்த்தக துறையில் உலகளாவிய பேசுபொருளாக இன்று வளம் குன்றா வளர்ச்சி கோட்பாடுகள், சூழலியல் பாதிக்காத உற்பத்தி இருக்கும் நிலையில் திருப்பூரின் பல்வேறு முன்னெடுப்புகளில் முதன்மையானதாக வனத்துக்குள் திருப்பூர் திட்டம் குறிப்பிட படுகிறது சரவ்தேச அளவில் வர்த்தகர்கள் கருத்தரங்கங்களில் வனத்துக்குள் திருப்பூர் திட்டம் பேசப்படுகிறது

In memory of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the Vanathukkul Tiruppur Mass Tree Plantation Project was initiated by VETRY in 2015.

Dr. Kalam’s vision of a Green India inspires this initiative.

With the humble goal of planting 100,000 trees, the VETRY – Vanathukkul Tiruppur project began its green journey in 2015. Today, we have successfully planted over 22 lakh trees across Tiruppur, and our mission continues. “Vanathukkul Tiruppur” embodies our vision of creating a city that flourishes within a forest of hope, health, and sustainability.

This is a green initiative that invites everyone in Tiruppur to take part in building a greener future by planting one tree every month. The scheme encourages people to celebrate their special days like birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries by planting a tree and turning memories into meaningful action.

Corporate can also contribute by sponsoring the plants, including the maintenance cost. They can also contribute by engaging their employees to volunteer while donating funds.

Plantation made through corporate donations will be Geo tagged and hosted on our website for our field visit and continuous monitoring.
